Voigt's Turn to Write History

[18.08 16:19] Two weeks ago Kurt-Asle Arvesen was the one to write cycling history by being the first ever rider to win Tour of Denmark twice and this Saturday it was teammate Jens Voigt's turn, when he became the first to win the Deutschland Tour twice.

The victory became a reality, when he came home with the peloton after the 143-kilometer ninth and final stage from Einbeck to Hannover.

Juan José Haedo was mingling up front during the stage and finished in fourth place. The stage, which ended in a bunch sprint, was won by Gerald Ciolek (T-Mobile) – his third win in four days.

"This was a great race for us and the outcome was perfect. We worked together with T-Mobile in reeling in the break today and in the end we decided to help them all the way home to repay them for helping us during the last three stages after the mountains. It was brilliant to see "JJ" up front. He's approaching his top form, so he'll be making some results of his own soon, I reckon," said Team CSC's sports director Kim Andersen after the race.

"With Jens' overall victory, the victory in the Team's Competition, two stage wins and an overall sixth place in the Best Young Rider's Competition for Chris Anker Sørensen we couldn't be happier with the outcome of this race," concluded Kim Andersen.

If you are a member of Team CSC Official Fan Club you can hear Jens Voigt's comments after the race in the audio section. He also comments on Vattenfall Cyclassics, which he is participating in Sunday.
