Gallopin Makes His Debut in Qatar

One of the new faces on Team CSC in 2004, the French Sports Director Alain Gallopin, will make his debut in Qatar, where Team CSC kicks off the new season with the Doha International Grand Prix and Tour of Qatar.
"We will use the races in Qatar as a warm-up for the bigger events in the spring season, so our first priority is not the results. The riders need to get to know each other and be motivated to work together as a group," Gallopin says.
Both the Doha International Grand Prix and the Tour of Qatar are organized by ASO, who also arranges big races like Paris - Roubaix and the Tour de France.
"This obviously guarantees that the races are very well organized, but apart from that it doesn't make much difference in my work," says Gallopin, who has never been to Qatar before.
Among the riders joining him for the first two races of the season are Danish Classic specialists Frank H�j and Lars Michaelsen, who previously worked with Gallopin at both Team Coast and La Francaise des Jeux.
